5mm or 5.6mm ? and did they change through the years? Clymers says 6mm way to big.

I have one, let me go measure those spoke nutz......

Mine measure 6.02mm to 6.09mm depends on how much dirt are on them I guess. Grin

1500 mile bike clean as new my caliper measures 5.450 however that is only on the front tire.

I dunno'....my spoke wrench looks like this.

I don't worry about the size....if it doesn't fit I just turn it around to the other end and then it does fit.

Beat me to it Dave. Any bicycle supply carries a spoke wrench like that. Inexpensive and work fine. Even the stamped tin one from Walmart will do the job. I use ones kept from one of my Kawasaki Vulcans (as far as I know, only Kawi has spoke wrenches standard in their kits for spoked wheel bikes).

When assembling your real tool kit, hit up the nearest motorcycle junkyard. Most have mixed tools all jumbled together in bins, cheap. Kawasaki and Honda have the best o.e.m. tools, but the chromed ones from VS Suzukis are decent too.
