Since a search doesn't allow / as in 130/90 here goes.  AND I have read as many tire threads as possible.

Who has actually gone with the 130/90/15  rear tire

Cruise or skin the pegs use ??

How many miles since change ??

Happy???

Dunlop 404 comments appreciated as well.  Thanks Cool

Originals so timed out... plenty of tread, and already did the front.   Wink

<Who has actually gone with the 130/90/15  rear tire>

MT-66's  130/90/15

<Cruise or skin the pegs use ??>

If it is 1-3, than a 2.  If it is 1-5, than a 3.

<How many miles since change ??>

Probably only 2,000 +/-

<Happy???>

Yes, it seems more nimble, and I have more confidence,  But that was replacing, (Not wore out tread wise, but Age wise),  7 year old rubber.
So, can't tell you if it was the size change, or the, 'GOOD/NEW' rubber change.

Will I do it again on this bike, Yes!
The Mfg/Style, don't know.
The size, yes.

The, '90', made the spedo read Much closed to real.
The, '140', if it were to be, in a, '90', then it depended greatly,
if one had to, or did not have to, change the bolts inside the rear fender.
(Some folk, do a 149/90, and don't have to do a thing,
Some folk, have to change out the bolts inside the fender,
for 'butten' heads).
I am lazy, so I didn't want to. So that's why I went with the '130'.
And for me, it works quite well.

I've had the experience, not on the rear of this bike, but on the front of another bike, of putting on fresh +1 rubber, then having to go to -1 rubber (original size not available, and the +1 rubbed) and on that bike narrower rubber was definitely better for nimbleness
so far as ultimate grip, the savage doesn't need near the amount of contact patch provided by the factory tire, as I stated in another post, my 81 XS1100 uses a 130/90 rear with 3x the power and 2x the weight, and traction is not an issue

Five thousand on the rear, eight or so front... and living close to the edge,,
CAN ten thousand be done? I guess it's possible,, but, does anyone else remember being confused when Mom said
Have fun and be careful...

My tires can't last ten thousand miles AND I have fun. The Dunlop would last one Summer.Hard acceleration, peg dragging turns, downshifting and feeling it slide a bit sometimes..

I don't need speed to have fun, but it helps
conservatively ridden, my XS will utterly smoke my S40, while the S40 is being flogged mercilessly, but the S40 is still fun  Grin
