Braveteacher installed some LED indicators in his top fork yoke. It is a nice looking setup. Go to post #22 in this link:

It is easy to connect to the wires in the headlight bucket. Just find the wires that go to the front turn signals - I believe one is green and the other is black. Tap into those wires with the hot side, and run the other side to a ground (black with white stripe I believe). If you want a single light, then you need to connect a diode to both turn signals wires (left and right), the run the single wire from the diode to the indicator light.

I have found some helpful comments, but telling me about using hand signals is not very constructive. I started riding a motorcycle before most cars on the road had turn signals and no motorcycles that I can think of had turn signals. That was dangerous enough for one life time. In this day and age when one puts their left arm up to make a right turn I am sure most drivers have no clue what the cyclist is doing.

I like the way Brave Teacher did his indicator lights.

I will probably use 2 lights since I do not know how a diode works.

I ordered some miniature LEDs and I am going to attempt to place them on the back side of the Fly Screen to get them up high enough that I can see them without having to look down.

I do appreciate the helpful comments and links that eventually show up on the forum

funny you should say that since LED are diodes that emit light. Grin

you hook up + to one end and - to the other, hook it backwards and it does nothing but hook it up right and it lights up.

pump too much current thru it and it blows up.

same thing with a diode except no light and it's made to flow more current. think of them as a 1 way gate.
you buy them buy the current capacity.

Both flasher power positives run off the flasher fuse (like JoG said) don't they?
So put a small phiezo(sp?) speaker under yer seat or mount a small bracket near there.... blinker on.... beep, beep, beep... blinker off peace and quiet.
I had one on my vtx that one of the guys was selling as a kit, with directions included. Dang thing was so loud I taped some heavy foam around it to keep people at stop lights from giving me the "turn it off or i'll shoot you" look Shocked

I couldn't hear the signals clicking on a couple of late model automobiles I have owned and added turn signal speakers and that was satisfactory.

I think I want really bright lights right in front of me to let me know that I have a turn signal blinking. If this isn't satisfactory I should be able to add the speaker into the same circuit, I think.

The Signal Minder looks like a great idea, but it is a little expensive.

I am going to try the LED pilot lights on the back side of my Fly Screen first and if that isn't effective I will add the small beeper.

If I had known about the Signal Minder it would probably have been my first choice, but as usual I am a day late and a dollar short.

I managed to get the Joe Florida LED Cluster hooked up to my turn signal flasher and the results are better than expected.

I only used one of the LED Clusters, because with hooking it up to the flasher the LED will flash regardless of which turn signal is active or if I have the Emergency flashers on.

An attempt at adding a picture is below.

I guess you will have to take my word for the success of this minor modification...LOL

So.....you hook the LED up to the positive side to the wire that comes out of the flasher and heads to the switch and ground the other LED wire.....and the LED by itself is not enough to activate the flasher to operate? And then when the switch is thrown and the turn signals come into the circuit the flasher begins....Cool! (Betcha this won't work for those of us who are running electronic flasher units and LED turn signals).

Have you tried that LED at night yet? You might have to "put a sock on it" to keep you form being blinded after dark.
