Will a 150/90-15 rear tire fit a stock 2001 Savage with no problems or modifications needed?

Thanks for your help

I don't think that a 150/90 will fit without some mods. It is split on people having to do mods (replace bolts) with a 140/90 to keep it from rubbing. Some do and some don't.

Not usually.Depends on the tire and the bike.I run 150s on all of my bikes. With the stock fender I had to slot the mounting holes about 1/4".The fender was not truly centered.AND use button head bolts in case the tire makes contact with them. One of my builds,Suzuki was off and I had to trim about 1/4 - 1/2" out of the crossbrace on the swingarm.
First pic is the one I had to oval mounting holes.Second is the one I had to trim swingarm.

I'm guessing there wouldn't be any problem with running a 140/90-15 rear tire, correct?

Thanks again!

Other than most people replace the siderail bolts inside the fender with buttonheads.Must be just a little wider. And different brand tires vary in width.

Like others have stated, you might or might not have to change the side rail bolts . I put a 140/90 Metzler 880 on my 07 and did not have to change the bolts, others have had to change them

I've run both Continental and Michelien 140/90's without modification, they were fitted by tyre shops.

I just put a Shinko on, 140/90, it rubs on big dips (parking lot exits, for example)
might need to button head it

Thanx.
I made it.Just a Sparto taillight and a set of bullets.Available through about any of the companies JP,Midwest...etc.
Inside of the taillight is hollow.Juist drilled holes and bolted the turn signals on.
