@RayDawg it's a chain on the right hand side.

Well so much for an early X-mass present, it didn't make it on the last container ship so I'll have to wait to pick it up until we return from visiting family just after the new year......I can foresee a few restless nights after I get the call that's it's in but I can't yet get it LOL   Cheesy

Well my bike came in! Rented a trailer and headed 1 1/2 hours off to Greensboro to fetch her, beautiful day here close to 60 degrees and got out for a nice ride  Cheesy  So far LOVE IT! The only initial change I'm thinking needs to be done is different bars to bring them back closer to me. Great first ride, looking forward to spring   Wink

In my country the S40 is still marginally cheaper than the Bullet $NZ8795, OR Electra $NZ 8895. In saying this RE doesn't say whether their prices include registration etc a brand new S40 with three to six months rego would be $NZ 8495. I feel you could add about $NZ400 to the RE prices for on road costs, which works a bit more in the S40's favour.

I would love to have an Enfield Cafe Racer, but the dealer support in North Texas leaves a lot to be desired.

With the S40 you can always find a suitable Suzuki dealer that is within an hours drive.

@JC- If economics is your prevailing reason why you ride, the LS650 is definitely the better choice, while the new UCE Royal Enfields are closer to Japanese quality they are still trailing a bit behind. The Bullet is a heart tug purchase more then anything for me, the style of bike I aesthetically love along with a true standard riding position which my back and hip prefer  Wink

@KennyG- The RE's are extremely easy to work on, if you wrench and have any issues you can deal directly with the importer and Kevin will send any replacement warranty parts directly to you during the two year warranty period.

@MM- The way my life goes I can never commit to anything ahead of time! LOL There are so many variables and seems that there is always something that prevents me from attending anything I want to do and make plans for.  Grin

Toes,

I ddn't know that the importer would deal directly with the end user of their products. I am not going to be buying another new motorcycle for a while, but with the information that ypou provided I would buy one of the Enfield Cafe Racers in New York Minute if I were to get another cycle.

I was just studying the picture of your new bike and noticed the handlebars look "Tilted Forward"  ....  Tongue    Can't you just loosen the clamping device and tilt them back toward ya just a little?   I have noticed better handling when the bars are the same tilt as the front forks.  Smiley

Ha Ha Ha RayDawg!  Once she's broken in I'll be installing a luggage rack  with a removable pillion seat  Wink

Well after a few rides I'm really enjoying the C5, so much more comfortable for my hip and back with the standard riding position.  Far from broken in so Highway riding yet,  but luckily I have some great local twisted on hand.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!
