I can not imagine flying down the freeway at 100 mph on this bike. Be fun to try tho!

The Brough's are a very elite motorcycle.  They were very high tech in their day and very fast and sophisticated compared to the other bikes of the day.

I did enjoy watching the ride and seeing the front end and seat bounce repeatedly for lack of any effective damping.  We have come a long way in the design of suspension.

And the Castrol R bean oil would be a very cool smell......remember the smell of your gas powered model airplane?

I'd take one...
...but I couldn't afford to insure it... Grin...
Jay must be self insured...

Before I ever heard the Brough pronounced,.. I thought it was a "Bro's Superior"... it's actually a "Bruff's Superior"...
I have to mentally self-correct myself every time I say it... Lips Sealed...

Beautiful machine...

Think about WHO he is.. He IS,     that guy.
He made his fortunes being funny. So, he IS also comedian, entertainer,And,seemingly, just a genuine nice guy.
He knows the history of the world, with regards to mechanical advances, because he loves machines. If I didn't know who he was and I met him, I'm pretty sure that if he said 5 words I'd realise he was someone I would enjoy knowing. I would say that he could tour my shop and appreciate it. Not that I have So Much, but that he is so humble and would see the common thread of what I collect and preserve.

Bot,

Did you notice that in the narrative, Leno compares the Brough to an HD 883?

Similar power to a modern Sporty...weighs more like my bobbed Savage...

Pretty darn amazing for a bike that old,... and with all those exposed valve train parts,...

Read a book called "Going Further" by Geoffery Malins a royal air force officer in the very early 'thirties. He and a friend rode two Brough Superiors around a good part of the world including France, Spain, Arabia, India, Indonesia, Australia, NZ and I think transcontinental USA. These Broughs were larger than Leno's and were hauling sidecars. They had their fair share of troubles, but they made it back to England. In the later 'thirties George Brough also made cars using Hudson componentry similar to Railton.
