I just think of what I use in the course of a day.. and decide if I need to haul it, buy it, or do without it.

LOL, I always over pack.
I have:
Mini-compressor/light and air guage
Can of fix-a-flat
Tire Plug a hole kit
Tool Kit/w a few extras
Emergency medical kit
Extra bungies
Flashlights x2 (sometimes I bring a windup emergency one that has a radio)
Plastic garbage bags (to cover in rain)
Rain gear
Chaps/w liner
Cold gear (face cover, ear muffs, brown cotton gloves)
3 sets of clothes
personal bath stuff/w meds.
flip flops (shower)
either a laptop or tablet (couple of spare flashdrives)
camera (finepix 700)
gps (garmen)

This time i'm adding
2 person tent (just in case)
40 degree sleeping bag and pad
AND i'm looking for one of those 3 person fishin' stools.

I hope I remembered everthing.... i'd hate to get to texas and have to drive back to get something... LOL... Shocked Roll Eyes

Gosh ?  Embarrassed

Did I ever under pack !  Roll Eyes

.....................................

At least I've got a few good list to review .

flash light and phone charger is always in the rear box
Extra oil and 20 oz of gas is always in lower saddlebag
foul weather gear and extra bolts lives in upper saddlebag
gps (garmen) ride in the handlebar bag when it not needed.

I need to add the large trash bag and put some "Ride-on" in the tires .

and find my three-legged-stool !  Grin

Any chance of jumping in on this last minute. I'd have to hammer out a trailer for the bike since it's a 1400 mile trip for me 1 way. But I think I can manage the time off. As busy as I've been I could use a few days with fellow bikers on some good terrain.

welcome as far as I'm concerned

no one mentioned this, but April showers so maybe the textile riding gear might be good, for water resistance
