I don't usually bring cookin' supplies, I just bring a tent, a pad and a bag...
More often than not i'll have a bit of change to buy a cup of joe, and a few bills to buy a burger or two.
I will probably only stay a day or two at the campsite, as it will take me two days to get there, and two days to get back.... leaving me 3 days to ride with you guys and make it a week total.
Not that I need to set a limit of days.... just that a budget with the wife for the trip at the end of the season at the Dragon (aug/sep dragon run) has to be planned for also.
I am hoping to meet MMR in Baton Rouge and then Columbus to meet up with other riders and continue to the camp grounds... Smiley

I would have to guess that for the half that aren't staying in the cabin or tents overnite, that we can meet at the HQ building in the mornings so you won't have to pay vehicle or entrance fees.

Those in the cabin ($12 a night) have entrance fees included, but you'll need to pay your own vehicle fee ($5) I don't think they charge less for m/c's.  I'll bring a cot and extra linens (just in case), a cooler and a coffee pot.  Anything else?

I don't cook, but I'm great at heating and/or burning things.   Grin

Verslagen.  Things that maybe you can bring:
Power strip, that might be needed if a lot of people have things they need to charge up.
Tools.. if you have a reasonably compact set that you don't mind hauling along.  (While I have tools, it is a 2 hour ride to the house and back if someone needs something).
Lighter or some kind of fire stick.

Stating the obvious:
Everyone just needs to remember to bring what you need.   Some things to consider:
Meds, Chargers for phone or whatever, deoderant, comb/brush, other toiletries, towel.  Just think of what you use on a normal day.
And, you can always buy stuff you forget.. or don't want to haul.

I will check out what is available at the convenience store just down the road, (firewood, ice, what else?) and where the nearest real grocery store is to pick up grilling food.
I plan on hanging out on Saturday night for a cookout, story swapping, and mild imbibing of adult beverages.  They throw non campers out at 10pm I think.

Every place I can think of takes plastic, but cash works best for the Biker Bars if you are just getting a beer.. of which there will be a few.  Tongue
ATMs are everywhere.. but I never use them, so I don't know if you need to be a "local" to get cash.

Anything else you want me to check on in the area?

So since I am new here and will be new to Texas shortly.

Hello and since I am still looking for my thumper, can I bring my other scooter?

I will be in the Killeen area. Anyone riding down from or passing through the area?

Thanks for the thought Versey   Smiley but:   I've got a two day ride just to get there , so I have to bring my tent anyway.    I'm meeting OldRider in the Baton Rouge area at a camp ground Thursday evening .

Then Friday we'll go on to South Texas !  Smiley

If necessary I'll leave the cot.   The tent fits under the headlight , backpack on the rear seat ,and sleeping bag hooked on the rear of the backrest on top of the rear box.   Maybe the cot under my backpack and just in front of the backrest (haven't tried it yet)  Huh.   but the cot weights more than the tent.

Sure.. come on down!!  What are you riding now?

Need to know:
Will you be staying in Kerrville overnight?
I think the current mini-cabin has all bunks filled, but 2 spots open on the floor.
You can also camp with a tent, or find some other place to stay.

What days do you plan on riding with us?

Welcome aboard!

Art
I was looking at google map.   If we leave Lafayette , La. 0900 ish , we should be in the Columbus area by 1400 ish (288 miles).    Its about 185 miles from Columbus to Kerrville , so that would put us at Kerrville about dark.   Is that fitting the way your picturing it ?

Day one , Lynchburg to Lafayette is 596 miles.    Huh By time I get back it will be oil change time again !  Grin

I ride a 2009 Victory Vegas Eight Ball.

I will camp out I think. Although that depends on the mosquitoes to some degree.

I am not sure which days I will be down yet.
