Left (shifter side) Foot peg question
10/26/14 at 09:13:59

So after it was determined that I am the current village idiot (see gas cap cylinder seized) I have been out and about putting around enjoying my savage thoroughly.

Just this morning I added an inch to my seat via the nylon spacer mod, and was going to adjust my buckhorn bars (but turns out I am going to need a better set of allen keys)

After attempting to adjust my bars I started after the left foot peg (shifter side) it seems to sag down a bit when I put weight on it, i tightened and loosened the allen nut above it to see if that would affect it at all, that was no success. After my last blunder I decided to just come inside and ask someone who actually knows.

So can the left foot peg be tightened up to be a but more sturdy under my weight or is it designed to flex like that?

Nope,... the footpegs have a little foot on them that sets the stop point...
It's not adjustable...
There is a tin insert with a rubber foot on it, that goes between the peg foot and the mount.. yours may be missing, or the rubber fell off...

PS.. you can download a set of disassembled views of nearly every part of your bike here...

It's very handy...
..(couldn't find a pic of the footpegs though)... Undecided...

AND,,,, IF you determine that the Stop is not long enough to get it to stay up where you want it,, maybe a shim and some JBweld would make it do what you want.
