Never saw this coming

I noticed a new noise and figured it was coming from the belt. Wasn't bad enough to get too worried over. Checked it out yesterday and it was the belt guard rubbing against the rear pulley. Seems that when I set my shocks for a softer ride it allowed my saddlebag support to hit the top of the belt guard on some hard bumps. The rear guard support bent and the center one broke loose. I bent it back in shape and may try spot welding the center support back on but it looks like I'll have to set the shocks for a pretty stiff ride till I get some longer Progressives ordered.

But this is such a good excuse to upgrade the shocks. Was just now going to search on here for the best ones.

Ditch it,... and put on some Intruder 800 shocks... 12.25"...
You don't need a belt guard for an excuse to upgrade yer' shocks...
...
The crappiness of the stock shocks is plenty reason enough...

If you want Progressive shocks, check J.C. Motors....and the 412's are plenty good enough for the Savage.
