ArtWebb, meet Springman

Springman, meet ArtWebb

Shoot each other a PM and find out where each of you lives.

Both of you want to go to the Dragon Run, both of you live in Texas --- but does one of you have a pickup truck or a two bike trailer?

Do either of you have a buddy that rides to make it 3 up ???

Wed June 10th - MMRanch staging visitors from the far West.
Thur June 11th -  Oldfeller and Dave already there by cabin #4
Fri June 12th - MM's group packs up and headto Blue Ridge Campground
Sat June 13th -
Sun June 14th -
Mon June 15th -
Tue June 16th -
Wed June 17th - Pack up and head home.

========================================

WE ARE STILL TOO FAR OUT FOR ANY FORM OF REAL WEATHER ACCURACY .... it is all guesstimates right now.   The forecast tightens up at 2 weeks out but it will always say some chance of showers (mainly because up in the mountains there is always that chance).   Look at the individual days for the amount of precipitation, those 0.2" days are a heavy morning mist which also always happens all the time up in the mountains.

We've been through this before so you will always get you a 10 day out cancellation warning in case of fairly well predicted heavy bad weather (in time to get your money back on a cabin reservation).   If you are tenting, you will get cold at night and a bit dew wet each morning -- count on it.   So bring a bag and a blanket or two.

http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/cruso-nc/28716/month/2096614?monyr=6/01/2015

..... and count on it, you will meet up with a rain cloud at least once during the trip.   Stop and eat lunch or dinner, the road will be drying by the time you are done.

Or ride on and get soaked, we have done it both ways.   (you dry out in an hour or so anyway)

Thanks Old Feller. Art and I rode the 3 twisted sisters together along with Versy, MMRanch, Old Rider, and YouzGuyz. I know he said he couldn't make the first dragon ride. I said the same thing. But I really want to go. Just wishful thinking I guess. Yeah, Art and I are only about 90 miles from each other. I am sure we will ride together again some time.

Oh springman if only I could get off, you know I'd be jumping on that with both feet
stoopid job with no coverage
Maybe I'll ask anyway, worst they can say is no
still hate to hit the CC at this point , not having recovered from the sisters ride yet
heck, from the sound of the riding the lack of a windshield wouldn't even be an issue

Yup, I has a ranger that seems to get better gas mileage than it should, based on previous Rangers
No Radio, no cigarrette lighter for cell charger (maybe I could rig something) but it seems to be pretty reliable, albiet not fast, and I have a buddy who will willingly loan me a trailer
IF we can each get off work, I'll have to see
man I would love to do this
I even know where Spring is (Ex's neice and her hubby / kids live there

If Art and Spring can get the time off, then we are currently full up on the two tents (one tent from MM, one tent from Dave) that we have coming.   We will still have 1 floor space inside the cabin for up to 1 additional person and we can go triple in a tent if we really need to.

Waggle them fingers boys and girls, unless we hear from you NOW and occasionally hear from you up until we leave then the actual plans that are laid in will likely miss you.

Saying you planned on maybe coming a month ago or longer isn't helpful -- it is really sorta water over the dam at this point -- you need to be talking to us ongoing as we get into the short strokes.

(yep, I hates it when somebody shows up saying "Well golly gee, I told you back in December I was going to try to come on Sunday for a couple of hours" and we are already GONE off someplace)

TALK --- say something concrete --- like when you are arriving and how long you plan to stay.

We are laying in bed space now -- we plan the trips over the campfire day by day by day.

Who else from Texas wants to go with Art and Springman ???

The guys are making "if I can get off" sorts of sounds, leaving Art holding a Ranger truck a trailer and a "I wanna go now".    Art can put two in the bed and one on the trailer (or vice versa).

With 3 going the odds of making it to at least 2 become real good.   With 3 paying, gas becomes cheap.

If you guys make it, we will run down Fontana Dam road at dusk then turn right at Bryson and do the spooky run IN THE DARK  ......

Smiley   trick or treat .....

Hey Oldfeller. Thanks for the push. Art and I are talking and I guess we are both thinking the worst that can happen is that we get a no from our bosses. We shall see.

Naw, I have learned to recognize the folks that really do wanna come -- they show up on the thread and they talk.

I just poke at them when the time comes to make bed arrangements, and then again later on to tie down their arrival times to coincide with breakfast or supper times at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground.
(traditionally the times we are most likely to be there)

It all works out in the end .... and we do know it is one of the cheapest bestest vacations out there, bar none.    The temperatures will surprise you, it is very pleasant at night and the sounds of the birds, hoot owls and the other mountain sounds are always pleasing as well.

It is a good trip.
