Snap ring pliers

Is there a snap ring pliers used in the cam tensioner replacement operation? I'm curious because I had to by a 90 degree snap ring pliers for a household job and I was wondering if I could also use it on the bike? thanks.

Yeah, the tensioner is held on the shaft by one. I don't know if you are going to be able to get a 90 on it.. You need pliers that open the snap ring. It's an outside diameter ring. It's not impossible to get by without the pliers.

Try your 90 one. If that don't work. Try sharp nails, if that don't work, try two dental picks, if that don't work, try two paper clips. If non of them work, just buy a new one, and rip off the old one with any old pliers ! Cheesy

I use a 90, the ring is so small it doesn't have holes it has notches.
if you have several screwdrivers, chances are you can shove one in the notches and spread it apart enough to get it off.
