torn gasket
09/09/14 at 16:27:29

I searched but I didn't find anything on this topic so I was wondering.. Today while I was working on getting my piston in the jug my gasket got stuck to my hand and tore once in front of one of the little studs on the cam chain side and then another spot near the cam chain at the front of the jug I mended both spots  with gasket maker on the top and bottom and put it together and let it sit overnight without any pressure on it is this okay is this okay. Could I just use gasket  maker where the jug and case meet?

I would have put a dab of sealer at each tear, then tightened the jug to the case to clamp it all together flat.  I put a small dab of sealer on top the case at the center seam......just to make sure it is sealed.
