Best windscreen for the S40?
08/19/14 at 07:46:12

Looking for a smaller non obstructive windscreen for the S40. Have been looking at the National Cycle Flyscreen but I think I want something just a bit larger. I saw the Givi A240 Airstar that looked about the right size but I was unsure if it would fit or not. I would be interested in pretty much anything that is on the smaller side and looks decent.

Slipstreamer has a couple of smaller ones. I got the 18" Bullet because it was narrow enough to allow some wind around it to keep me cool, but high enough to keep the wind off my face. I like the mount too.

Looking on the Slipstreamer site and they have a few that look pretty good. Bullet looks a bit bigger than what I want. Liking the looks of the SS-20 Stealth, but not liking the price. Also like the looks of the HD-0 which is much cheaper.

I'm looking at the National Cycle fly screen, but I've only seen it on the pull back handlebars, and I like my flat bars. Does anyone have it on their flat bar bike, and would be willing to share a picture?

I can see enough to see it comes up past the risers. Thank you, Bubba.

I installed a Memphis Shades (the smallest one) with a yellow tint (from JP Cycles). It's a nice addition. Only complaint is it buffets my glasses when I wear a 3/4 helmet for short hops, but I usually wear a full face. Very good quality, somewhat aggravating installation but for $150 I am very pleased. They come in different tints as well. Reply if you'd like the part number. I was recently caught in a brief but heavy storm. I'd say it did much better than I expected keeping my upper body dry.

Even on short hops. I like to have a windshield.
Would Much rather have bug's (and things),
hit my helmet, rather than my neck.

The, Slip-streamers ones, are very generousness in fitting most anything.
 (And inexpensive)  Grin

On the V800, I bought, their was a very low one on, 13"
(Memphis Shades). So the brackets were their,
I bought a tall one 20". And the time I rode it, without.

Well suffice to say, rather have bug's hitting my helmet.

I do have a extra Spit Fire, I took off a 97 LS650, 15" tall.

The, 'best', I think, (Memphis Shades).
But very expensive, with all the hardware.

I can go both ways.....windshield on the ST1100, none on the Cafe Savage and Ninja.  On the trip to the Dragon Lodge a couple weeks ago I took the little Ninja, we were on Happy Valley Road and I caught a Bee with my neck and got stung.

I don't mind the wind....but I do mind getting stung. :'(

No kidding, about a month ago I had a bee slip between my glove and sleeve of my coat while going down the road.  Yeah it stung me.   Tongue
I didn't know what it was till I took my coat off and pulled out the stinger.

If you like, 'just riding', not wiping bugs, off your teeth, head, neck.
Fine.
If, a wind shield/screen, is to, 'look' cool,
Fine.

I like a windshield, to make driving a  MC, more comfortable.
When the, 'June', bug, hits the windshield at 65,
I am sure glad it didn't hit,  me!
