Managed to find a spare hour or so to fit Versy chain tensioner and look what I found lurking under the cover, I hope copyright has not been infringed and an international incident doesn't occur

p.s. somebody was asking about the oil pump cog it felt a bit loose, backward and forward movement about 2/3 mm

I replaced mine around 50k miles cause I had one burning a hole in me pocket.
You can get a few more mm's behind it if you replace the rear guide.
It's a little tight, but can be done w/out removing the head cover.

Which is the rear guide? You mean the one held by the single bolt on the outside of the cylinder head?

yeah, the one on the rear side that attaches to the adjuster... aka tensioner.

Been riding on new tensioner and the annoying noise has gone (thanks verslagen1 nice piece of kit) - looking forward to the next strange noise to occur,do they go in order I wonder ?
Backfire and popping, headlight rattle, cam chain clicking, exhaust knocking etc and so on

Don't leave out the whiny belt and the squeaky brakes.

Come on, that's general problems for many bikes
If it doesn't rattle and make noices, it's not a real motorcycle
