Drop out or hard shift to 4th
06/26/14 at 15:19:05
1986 19555 miles. Sometimes when going to forth it does a false neutral or jumps around a little. I quickly let off and reapply pressure and we are in gear...I did a search and found one result stating that this sometimes happens...looking for some reassurance.

You might want to check the linkage leading to the shifter to see if it is moving the shifter lever to its' full extent when you operate the pedal. It might need a slight adjustment.

I had a 4 speed and sometimes it hard shifted like that. I just pulled the clutch lever and clicked again and it was fine.
