Cam chain (Read 67 times)

GrowlingSavage YaBB Newbies Offline SuzukiSavage.com Rocks! Posts: 4	Cam chain 06/26/14 at 07:40:35 What's going on fellow savages. I'm new to a 1996 Savage. After 3 weeks of riding the cam chain tensioner called out to me. I have the clutch cover off . The plunger was completely out of the housing. Anyway, I want to measure the chain. How do I remove it after having the cover off?

Put a 'slaggy on it and run it until it is hitting itself in the middle and then (and only then) will it be even begin approaching the manufacturer's wear limits. Our cam chain tension system isn't the best in the world, I am afraid.
