Quick & Dirty Raptor swap - can it be done?
05/08/14 at 09:41:24

I know I have half a tank of gas. I also know it practically takes one minute to swap the stock petcock to the Raptor, once the tank is out.

If I lay the tank sideways on the grass for one minute while I swap...will the filler cap hold the gas, or will it just pour/gush out?

Problem is that all my canisters are full of old stale gas, and I want to save myself the draining time anyway.

(And no, it´s not my lawn, and less than half a litre of gas never hurt anybody. More...is another story. Besides, we are all environmental pigs while we ride a motorcycle  Cool )

You don't even have to take the tank off if you can lay the bike over on the right side.  I lay a piece of carpet on the floor, and prop the handlebar on a milk crate.  You might get a bit of gas dripping from the tank through the fuel cap vent..... I have a rubber plug that fits the hole and seals tightly.

Hehe. Ain´t gonna happen. That dreaded "demonstration effect" WILL happen. Gas all over, exploding houses, swearing adults, burning bike...nope Smiley
