Anyone using Ryca Superbars on a stock savage?
05/06/14 at 07:59:32
Looking to change the buckhorns to something like the Ryca Superbar:
http://shop.rycamotors.com/superbars.html
Ryca said they should fit no problem, but have not put them on a stock bike.
Has anyone here done that? Or can comment on the quality of the Superbar? I Was going to look for a set of HD bars, but if these are good for $30 I will just get them.
Thank you!
Jac

1" inch diameter, 30" total length. Chrome
Diameter is right, before I jumped, tho, Id take a tape measure & go look at exactly where the mirrors will land. How big you are & where they land will play a major factor in how happy youll be,

Look like the bars I have on the '96 with risers.
30" is a good width for the average 6'
wide enough so the mirrors will see something besides elbow.
If you have a stock tank, you will need risers.
if you look at the fische, you'll see that a bolt run thru the clamp and the top triple tree. get a longer bolt and a set of deep sockets (see tech section) and you're in business.

I have 7/8" SuperBars on my Blast and love them.
I did have to add some additional height to the risers to have the controls clear the tank.

FWIW. Used lower height sockets for my risers, I just like the look better. And to avoid damage to the tank (because stuff does hit it), I glued those rubber picture bumpers to whatever places hit the tank. Been that way for over a year now, and no issues or scratches.

What do you teach? Boxing? I have seen Braveteacher,,, and thought,
Isn't that redundant? Isn't bravery just Part of being a teacher? But the arms look like they could be attached to a pretty stout dude, so, why the name? You brave cuz you ride or cuz you're a teacher, er whut?

If these ryca bars are the same as the ones you can buy on amazon, they will fit. But if you have a vista cruise control they will be too short. I added about 1" of old broom handle and things are fine. I have another savage with sportster bars. These have a little more pull back and a little more rise. No need for broom handle extensions. If you can get a set of sportster bars that would be my chioice. But it all depends on your size, type of seat, footpeg location. Look, if you want something to fit YOU, then you are going to be buying several types of bars until you get what is just right for you. I am 6ft 2" and my savage fits me perfectly. It did not come that way from the factory! It will take some time and money. If you have both you can turn a coffee table into a road racer. Rick Seiman said that 40 yrs ago. It still makes me chuckle.
