Changing the turn signals
04/25/14 at 11:23:57
This is my first bike
. Bought it with a broken turn signal (cracked at the base), so I bought a new pair of turn signals at the local shop. The signals that are on the bike screw into the chrome tube that is attached to the frame, but these signals have a base that is too short, as do most of the ones I've seen for sale.
I don't want to drill new holes for these to fit, so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for fitting these or for signals that would fit a savage. I saw the stock suzuki ones but they are $90 a piece at the shop, so I'm trying to avoid spending that much, although I may just have to buy them..

CB radio bracket on the back of the license plate hanger. Enlarge the "ear" holes to fit the signal stems. Run the signal wires (with same gauge extension) up under the seat with the taillight or plate light wires. Attach to the factory harness with bullet connectors like stock.
Then remove the stock signals, one screw per on the fender rails. Snip the wires and pull them back from the front end and remove. You could use them to tie into the new set as your extensions if you wanted to...
Chrome or black hole plugs from the misc hardware bin to fill the stock locations.
Takes longer to type it than to do the work itself.
