It needs a lot of work but I believe with time and patience I just might be able to get it going again. He seems to have given up on it. I am just desperate to have another bike even if I will be working on it a lot just to get it running. I miss tinkering with one.

Reply #2 - 03/20/14 at 15:33:25 It has a lot of issues, electrical mainly and I think the cam timing slipped. But I just asked my brother and he wants to keep it. He's gonna try to get a shop in the town he lives in to fix it. So it looks like I am out of luck.

82 they went to some sort of TCI system. It's still sort of hard to come by but can be had. I found schematics for a homebuilt one on a site about them when I looked at one a while back.

Before 82 they are some sort of hybrid magneto setup. Have a rep for problems.

82 and up are great bikes from everything I've read about them. Timing chain is sort of a pain, though.
