Hello everyone,

just picked up a '86 savage that im going to retro into a bobber/chopper but before i get to the fun stuff theres some issues that need to be addressed for starters the kick stand switch is being held by a zip tie....lol  anyone know where i can source out a new stand and mechanism?  im based out of toronto canada but have family in the USA that can pick up for me

The Kick Stand switch is a safety device, that often fails.  If you put the bike in gear with the stand still down, the engine stalls.  When/if the switch fails - it can stall the bike and you may spend a long time trying to figure out why.  If you are an experienced rider and not prone to riding off with the kickstand down....you can just bypass the kickstand switch and "forgetta bout it".

but if i wanted to replace it anyways is there a aftermarket brand you would recommend?

Nope.....

This bike is a limited production bike, and it does not get the aftermarket attention that more popular bikes do.  Some parts just need to be bought from the factory - or you need to adapt some generic parts.
