It is in the Marketplace, at the top of the page.

Get a VM36 instead of a VM38.....the VM36 is a better size for the Savage.

Ok thnx. Why is it better fitted to our bikes?  I found both the 36 & the 38 online for $98. I'm itching to get one.

The 38mm has too much area (11% more than the 36).  When the engine is idling or at low throttle settings, the venturi in the 38 is not getting as strong of a vacuum as the 36.  This makes the 38 harder to jet accurately, and it can make for poor throttle response at low throttle settings - which is where most of the around town or cruising is done.  Unless you are installing a big cam, Wiseco Piston, doing port work and going to the track.....the 36 is a better choice.

I have a feeling I'm going to need a different rubber mounting flange & throttle cable. Is this true? The mounting flanges are right next to the carburetors online but which one do I get? Or is it self explanatory I just go back and get the one that fits the 36mm...?   Throttle cable... Lancers post says custom made...? Or is it more like I just gotta cannibalize a few to get the parts to make my existing cable work?
Thnx for helping me by the way

The stock rubber mount does not work - you need to the order the rubber mount that matches the bolt spacing on your bike.  Measure the center to center distance of the bolts and order the correct one.
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1388414553

The throttle cable either needs to be custom made by someone that has the correct parts to make one....or you need to make one.  Venhill cables can sell you a kit....and with the kit and your stock cable you can make it work....if you know how to solder steel cable (acid core solder).

You need to be sure the carb you order has the correct jets, and proper slide cutaway.  If you get one set up for a 2 stroke engine you will spend a lot of money on jets and the slide to get the carb to run correctly. Go to the Tech Section and look at the jetting threads.....there is a list of the proper jets and slide cutaway listed in one of the threads.  If you are not familiar with jetting and setting up a carb.....it can be a bit of a challenge to get it running correctly.

Huh...well the cable & rubber mount im not to worried about but the setup has got me confused. I called Mikuni Corp. and told them I got a VM36-4, they said that ones set up for a 2 stroke. And i said dangit! And they said the only difference is the jetting. So I ran through all the jet and needle numbers and all that stuff from Lancers post and he said "yeah that's all the stuff that comes in it". So i guess i jst cross my fingers..??..?  I didn't use the term "slide cutaway", I just said throttle valve 2.5 and he said yep

Well the round part that moves up and down in the venturi when you move the throttle is called the "Throttle Slide", and the notch cut into the back of the slide is called the "cutaway".  The cutaway controls the rate at which the Pilot Jet stops working and the Needle Jet and Main Jet start to function.  There is an overlap where both of these systems are working - and using a different degree of cutaway on the slide has an effect on what position of the Throttle Slide that transition occurs.
