...to get a copy of XP Pro for my dinosaur of a laptop. I had been running 2000 server. I had my dad send me a copy of XP Pro with a legit key and spent 6 hours a couple of days ago installing it and finding all of the updates. Yes I know XP is close to losing support from the microsoft mafia but my laptop is so old it would never be able to accept the newer versions and I can't find the linux equivalents of the programs I use the most. I also can not afford to buy a new laptop, besides this one does what I need it to so why waist the money. My desktop on the other hand is much newer and running Windows 7. That's the one I use for my vid and pic manipulating.

By the way, does anyone have a copy of Office XP I can get? I left my copy in Nevada when I came back down here for the winter and I would really rather not have to wait till spring when I go back up to get word back on this thing.

Never mind about needing the Office XP. I found an open source equivalent that works on Word documents.
