On the bright side.... maybe my 883 won't be a "girls", "beginners" bike anymore...
Embarrassed...
Danggit'!... Do you have to ride a road barge to be a man?... (I think it's affecting my hormonal balance, lately...
...I'm getting moody)... Undecided...
Grin Grin Grin...

You I tried that "twin Peaks" bar (old Hooters owners) .. but quickly quit... I dislike anyone trying to push a larger beer as mansize and girlsize. So if i dont buy each beer as 32oz.. I am not a man??? Really??

Liquid cooling allows for closer tolerances in the engineering ... which should give more HP per cc than a comparitively sized air-cooled unit ...

Read on another site that the new H.D. Street 750 should be putting out 50+HP ... that's roughly equivalent to Suzuki's VS800 Intruder/S50 at approx. the same weight and more than the Honda VT750DC Spirit @ 45 or so HP for 500+lbs

I'll have to find one of the 750s to race against me on my VS750. I've beaten a few 883s in races, even a Ninja 500 (new rider). Heck I've beaten a couple of stock 883s with the S40  Cheesy

So, just read that the new Street 750 cranks 54HP ... that's better than the 883 Sportster which 46-ish and weighs about 100lbs more than the new H.D. St-750 ...

The 883's days may be numbered ... wouldn't be surprized if the Sportster line-up becomes 1200cc only within the next year or so ...

Maybe I should take my road glide in and trade'm even up for one.

At 480lbs and 50ish Hp it might be an actual go take a look and maybe test ride. I didn't even see when they are supposed to be coming out.

If I were satisfied I would keep it, if not, then i'd sell it at a discount to some Harley wanna be girl or girly-man. But i'd have to take it up to the dragon to ride it at least once, does it snow on the dragon?

I also took a look at the concept video... could the new bikes really be made into these???  bobber, café and street... I like the street.

http://street.harley-davidson.com/?source_cd=Email_110513_Street_Announcement...

Go to that page clik the box "check it out" scroll down to videos , after clicking video's at the top there is a concept video also.

I think 883's are the best looking bike Harley ever made. Bot I would be riding one if I could and I wouldnt care what people called it. The big bikes look to big and cumbersome with way too much chrome decoration for me. The Sportster has the minimalistic look of a real motorcycle and I actually think they sound better. Tried to buy a plain black solo seat 883 that was a leftover model a few years back. Retail 7999. I offerd them retail out the door since it was a leftover model and there were 3 or 4 of them on the floor. They wanted $9500 for a year old $8000 motorcycle out the door and I politely told them no thanks and I've never been back to a Harley dealership.

I agree ... the Sportster has been the only Harley-Davidson that I've ever had any interest in ... all other model are waaaaaaaaaaay too big and heavy for me ... this new 750 Street (HATE that name though!) does generate some interest ... I'd like to see it do well and think it has potential ...

I don't know about the new bikes.....but I sure find that website frustrating.  Just show me a pictures of the bike and don't worry about the artsy fartsy shots or the misleading text written by people in some Manhattan 20th floor office.

I do kinda like the bobber version also, but the suicide shift i'm not so sure about, would take some getting used to. The bike would be lighter in the bobber version and if you replace the metal tins with fiberglass or plastic it would be even lighter, i'm all about it being lighter. Smiley Cool

Not a bad looking bike at all. I like the fork gaiters and headlight cowling. Looks like a new entry level bike to entice new riders. We will see if/when they are available here...
