Now that it's getting colder out...

I did notice a few things. The little times I do ride it I have to pull the choke out all the way (used to never have to, then after putting in dynojet kit, I would have to use half the choke) and even when it's fully warmed up, if I take it off the choke it idles fine for a bit then it dies. So I would have to start riding it while it's idling fine (before slowing down and dying). The first few stop signs the idle feels like it might die but once I ride it for a bit it stays running at a proper idle speed even during stop lights. Wondering if this is simply due to colder temps or if something else is going on. Or it might have to do with my muffler problem (see my other thread
)

Bump your idle speed up a bit. Common in cooler weather, I've ridden in as low as 10 degrees F on my Savage w/o major issues.

The cold air and cold fuel does not allow the fuel to atomize as well in cold weather, and the oil is thicker and it takes a bit more power until things warm up......Normal.

I ride in Boston-area winters. When it gets down to 30 or so, I need full choke to start, then have to ride at half choke for several miles before it will idle well. In warmer weather, half-choke to start, much shorter ride time before I don't need choke at all.
