Shorter cables for ryca
11/03/13 at 12:40:53

Hi folks, I'm looking for a part number for shorter clutch and throttle cables for my Ryca build. Does anyone have any advice? I can see that some savages came with lower bars but can't find anyone who stocks the shorter cables which must have originally existed.

Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
I'm not sure if there are any cables that are ready made at the correct length. Maybe someone will come along here on the forum with some cable from another make or model that are the correct length with the correct ends.
Looking ahead at my Ryca CS-1 build I was thinking that I would maybe contact Motion Pro (Google them) and see what some custom cable would cost. In addition there is a local independent motorcycle shop that I think will modify my stock Savage cables to my specs.

I built my own cables using the kits from Vehnill.  It is easy, as long as you know how to solder steel cable......it has to be acid core flux and not rosin core.

Speed and Sport also will make custom cables for you.

Thanks for that VenhillUSA link Dave.  Looks like a great source for making your own cables.
