Ryca CS-1 fork oil

Hi All, what weight of oil have people used for their CS-1? Also, how much oil?
I have the progressive srpings and would prefer a 'firmer' & sportier ride.
Thnx
Andy

I used the specified amount of oil.  ATF.  The ride is stiff, really stiff.

Thnx Gyro, I found he reference in the fork build manual (insert springs and washers, compress the fork tube, fill it to the top - ~15 Oz)
What viscosity is your ATF? I see references from 3W up to very high numbers - a lot of people suggesting it's 10W for the most part.
Why did you decide on ATF over fork oil?

I used ATF because I had some.

Someday I might experiment with different weights, but most places I researched said it was acceptable for weight (about 10w) and chemistry, so I just used what I had handy.

A long time ago before the internet.....we had to drive places to buy stuff.  The closest motorycle shop to me in the 70's was an hour and a half round trip.  Using ATF for fork oil was common.....as it could be obtained at any gas station.  It has seal conditioners, anti-foam agents.....lots of good stuff that makes it work well for fork oil.  Only down side is that you can't try different "weights" or viscosity, and it smells weird.
