# 3 on the list. They call it a fuel thingy assembly. I haven't bought one myself but I'm pretty sure this is the right one.

I was looking at that site, but it shows they are out of them. Are they no longer produced?

I just went to the Yamaha dealer and bought a raptor which they had in stock and they only cost maybe $22 to $25 and took all of 15 minutes to mount. Thats the same symptoms my bike had when the stock petcock went tits up.

WD have you (or any others) tried the VS800 Intruder petcock and does it eliminate the vacuum & or problems of the stock petcock and with the larger reserve have about the same range before reserve with 11.5" shocks & 150/90 rear tire(back raised about 2")?

The stock petcock provides 78 ounces of fuel in reserve, the Raptor provides about 60 ounces of reserve. With my bike I could go about 33 miles on reserve with the stock petcock and about 25 miles with the Raptor.
If you think you need more reserve than the Raptor provides - you could extend the brass tube vertically to match the stock petcock height. You could cut the brass tube somewhere in the middle of the height and then uses a piece of fuel line slipped between the brass portions that is long enough to extend up to the height you want.
Here is a link to the Chaptor on the Raptor that shows a comparison of the height of the reserve on the two different PetThingys.

Works like any other normal petcock. Reserve comparable to stock Savage unit. It's just 4x the price of a Raptor unit.

Hopefully it works like they should not like the LS650 petcock LOL! Some used 1s cheaper on EBay, just wondering which would be best all-around, guess a new Raptor is cheaper, w/just a lil less reserve.

Now, you do need to watch the donor year on VS800 petcocks, they were recalled for leaks that lead to multiple fires. Took 3 tries to get a good one for my wife's 1996 Intruder.
Which thankfully appears to have succumbed to your standard issue "Suzuki couldn't build a durable electrical system (or decent seat) if they had" to problems. If you can't tell, I truly despise the entire "cartoon character chopper" look of the early VT500 Shadow that spread its noxious lines into Suzuki (VS series) and Kawasaki (VN500-750)...
