16% of Americans favor war with Syria. It will be interesting to see if the politicians represent us or themselves.

I just don't see this as a popularity contest...

We are all tired of war... and no one wants more...
... but,... the civilized world came together, and set up some rules of engagement...
It was decided that technology had become too brutal even for war...
Rules were made, to protect all soldiers and civilians regardless...

We banned radiation, chemical, biological, weapons... among other things...
Enforcement of these rules, is for our soldiers as much as for anyone...

The sad thing is, we've broken these rules more than anyone...
I'm not sure we have the right to uphold the rules at this point... but, no one else is standing up...
And maybe our military shouldn't be out there... but we all know they will be, regardless of who is in the White House...
So we need to make it clear... to these two-bit tyrants... if they use these banned equalizers... we will deliver consequences...

If Saddam had actually had Chemi/Bio weapons and used them... we would have had dead numbering in the ten's of thousands... maybe more...
These weapons allow casualties too numerous to imagine... and far too easily...

1) jog, you gotta let go of the rebel conspiracy thing. There is no "every indication" thing...that's nonsense. Obama laid that out pretty well last night.

2) sew, Saddam DID use chemical weapons. Killed 5 x more that Assad did. It's just an inconvenient fact that liberal news likes to "forget" to mention.

3) have no idea what you mean when you say " we've broken these rules more than anyone". Are you talking about nukes in WWII?

4) as far as we've got no right, again I thought Obama was spot on when he said we are about the only nation with the ability to respond and I think implied  we are about the only nation with the moral standing to respond with violence. As another President once said, the fact is there are violent men in this world and the only response to them is greater violence.

Midnight; representative government by definition means we select representatives who we feel have the intelligence, morals and empathy to act on our behalf. The plan is NOT to have a man who sticks his finger in the air, but a man who judges the situation as he sees fit. That's a critical difference. Unfortunately, our election methods make it hard to find out just who the guy we send to Washington really is.....

The Colorado recall was a perfect example Midnight. The state reps had views far too liberal views for their districts and that came out in their support for gun control laws. They were recalled. That's how it should work.

The way it should work is the Congressional Representatives should represent us. Almost 90% are fed up with the Middle East. That means stay out if they represent their districts as they promised they would. As Bot so eloquently stated we've used these weapons that makes us no better. Everyone except the Wall St terrorist making millions off the wars are sick and tired of it. We go over there fight, lose limbs and die and in just a few years later its as bad or worse than we left it. Making the same mistake over and over. There's a word for that, its called insanity.

Web we agree on this one except I think the politician that misrepresented the people should be booted out along with the law. He or she has demonstrated total incompetency to know whats best for the state and its people. One of our founding fathers(Forgive my memory) said the government is supposed to be scared of the people, not the other way around.

Who was lying? Obama, Assad, or the rebels? All three of those are known liars, you're correct. In fact, Obama might be the worst.

Anything is possible of course, but it seems most likely it was not the rebels.

Actually, it makes more sense it WAS.

BUT, I admit, it does require some understanding that just may be beyond your present level of ability,
You see.. Therebels would LOVE it if WE invaded & did their  job For them.

WeSAID

Use Chemical Weapons & Here we come.

SO,, How better to get us in?

THINK about it,.get away from the kool-aid & THINK

How many wars would you want to be a sucker in supporting?

Obama declaring "this is the line", sets people up to push him, or pull him.

Yep,, Once he laid that out, all  the rebs needed to do was fire some off & make it look like Assad did it, Then, they get the worlds last Super POwer to come finish their  job..
SOO,, What if it does cost a few lives? Itll be fewer killed than if they have to go it alone,,
It makes SENSE that they did it &^ it Doesnt make sense Assad did ity.,

& who here doesnt yet understand that those REbels we so dearly love
(as in Libya) are Al CIAduh? YOu remember, our Enemy in A/stan & responsible for 9/11? Yea,, that bunch,
