RVS treatment
08/06/13 at 00:08:38

As old timer I am not much for modern things Smiley
But somehow I got a feeling for RVS. I pour it in my Land Rover diesel engine and it did fantastic result. So I did that to gearbox, overdrive and transfer box also, with remarkable result. No doubt, it works.
So I am thinking about making a RVS treatment of the bike. Anyone done that?

Never heard of RVS,.. but I know people that swear by Rislone,.. and Marvel's Mystery Oil...
Motor honey... id what they call it...

It quiets bad sounds,... without fixing them....
You use it, to sell a car... that you don't want to fix.... Grin///

I still use Marvel's once in a while... just 'cause I like the name...
Grin...

I was like that to Smiley
But I did give it a try and it did work. It does not repair but it makes surface better. My overdrive was wining so loud that I could not use it, after an hour driving I could only make it wining on purpose.  I had some smoke from crankcase in the car, it was gone after few days. Other people that ride with me ask what I have done to the engine, they had hear it before. The improvement was so much that it could be heard.
You know I don't use silicon if I can make a paper gasket, I don't use synthetic oil so if I say it works, it does Smiley

The bike has a wet clutch.  I wouldn't risk it.

It says it only bonds with metal due to the friction of metal to metal contact.

Someone needs to make an inquiry with the manufacturer to determine compatibility.

Yes but the material does not bond with the clutch discs. Must be metal vs metal. No worries about the clutch.

OK....I read the stuff on their website and I am convinced you should try it.

Let us know how it works out......and give us an update in a few months.

I might do that Smiley
But will be hard to notice anything, the engine is running very good. Gearbox feels fine so maybe I can't see anything. And if it gives the motor longer life, well we may not be around anymore then Smiley it's just 20 years old, and I don't believe I will drive bikes in an other 20 years Smiley

Wouldn't RVS take care of the ZDDP issue?
