I got a Memphis Shades Batwing mounted to my S40. I used the bike specific Memphis Fats mounting hardware to mount it. Now I just need to get a 7 inch headlight to make it look better.

Bravo, that's the look I've been trying to get for my bike for some time now.
Mind if I ask which model bike that batwing was made for? (Or part/model number if you know it).

The batwing is universal. You will need to get the bike specific Memphis fats mount for the Savage/S40 (part no. MEM9909). The mount kit comes with spacers that you will need to use to get it to work with the batwing. I'm running the 9 inch spoiler windshield.

Yeah.. I have to say... that does look like something I would like, versus say a tombstone. So you have to buy the batwing.. then the mount .. and then the windshield? holy smokes!!

Yes everything is separate. I found the batwing and windshield as a package deal on Ebay. You can get it a little cheaper on Ebay.

How long does that take to put on and off? I'd love something like that through the winter, but during the summer I like the wind.

Also, if you don't mind us asking, how much?

I like the Memphis Shades Batwing, but has anyone ever tried the Slipstreamer SS-20 Stealth? Looks pretty nice too. And they spec one for an S40. Just curious how it would look.

I watched eBay and scooped up the batwing and windshield for $500. I originally bought it for my V Star 1100 and that price included the wing, windshield, and mounting kit for the V Star with free shipping. You can get it cheaper without the mounting kits on eBay.

The mounts for the LS650 are not the trigger lock style, so removing the batwing involves loosening the four bolts on the mount and then sliding it off. It is pretty easy to get on and off after the fork mounts are set up.

I do need to move the headlight out a little so that it is more even with the front of the fairing. I also have the Hogtunes speaker/amp made specifically for the Memphis Shades fairing.

On a side-note, the mounting brackets (MEM9909) is the same mounting bracket that is used if you purchase a FATS or SLIM W/S as well.

I was unaware of that until looking at this thread, didn't realize they use the same mounting bracket, so now my options are changing again since I already have the mounts on my bike with a Memphis Shades SLIM on it right now.

(I picked up the brackets on eBay for under $20 brand new and the W/S for under $20 used but like new) Going to have to watch for a used Batwing now as well...  Cool

There is the Mutazu fairing on eBay that uses all the same hardware as the Memphis shades, it is about 2-3 inches wider though.
