Man,, if theres any "Eye toward quality" in the production, then thats a great deal.. Theres the only way to deal with a Scorpion & not get stung. Good find & thanks for sharing. I bought from batterystuff several years ago for my xt225... it was a good battery...

There is no acid it is a dry cell.

If you talking AGM (absorbed glass mat) it is an SLA (sealed lead acid) battery. The acid is absorbed into a mat that is placed all thru out the battery. (I sawed one in 1/2, reason I know)
AGM lead acid batteries are available where the acid comes separate which you install yourself, and then seal it yourself, never to be added to again.

If you do buy an AGM battery and it comes with the acid seperate, you must carefully charge it before using it. I bought a battery from my local dealer last year, dumped the acid pack in....it was pretty cool as the acid pack had 6 pre-measured plastic viials that you used to fill the battery without mess or measuring. Then the instructions told you to charge it prior to use...which I did.....but I believe the charger I used was a 5 amp charger. The battery only lasted 2 weeks and then failed to start the bike or hold a charge. I got a replacement under warranty, and then used a 1.5 amp charger.....and that battery worked fine.

I always got batteries charged... (as far as I know)...
This one was fresh... newly added acid... I put it on 1amp charge at 7pm...
I should be safe, overnight... seems like that will get me to the ball park...

Main thing,... don't try to fast charge, not at above 10% amperage... and give it time...

Sounds like good basic advice for a battery anytime... but, I guess, particularly on initial charge...

Well, the battery manufacturers claim that you can blast a battery with big amperage for relatively short periods of time during initialization - just make sure that the battery doesn't get too hot.

I don't like doing it that way, however. Makes me nervous.....
