Which seat?
05/28/13 at 16:40:40

I recently picked up an '07 S40 and it's a blast to ride!  My bike has the one piece seat--not too bad, comfort-wise--and am wondering if the older two piece style is more or less comfortable.  Anyone have an opinion of them?

I couldn't tell much if any difference between the old style and new style seats.

I kinda liked the old, two piece style better.

The problem with bucket seats?  Everyone's bucket is different!  Wink

300 mile plus rides will rivet your ass. I've got an Airhawk pad which helps. Some Americans prefer the Corbin "gel"??? seat, others modify seats off other bikes

Equally atrocious. C50/C90 are the only even halfway decent seats in Suzuki's product line (including the cars and micro SUVs).

Thanks for the replies!  I doubt I'll be doing any 300 mile rides here in Hawaii!  I have a VStar 1100 for long rides and got the S40 for commuting and in town.  I do like the solo look you can create with the older two piece seat, though.

Is the C50 or 90 seat a direct fit on the S40?

Highly doubt it. The Savage/S40 is an oddball little bike, NOTHING fits without some serious massaging. I've got a modified Kawasaki VN800A seat for mine, and I'll probably never finish fitting it. Bike will be converted into a rigid in the next couple years, necessitating a K Model Harley sprung solo seat on 5 inch rise springs. Those actually fit the bike just fine, once you modify the frame for the rear spring mounts...

Here,, gitchya summa these.. They pay off twice,, padding for a more comfortable ride AND they raise the anus just far enough off the seat that you wont be able to rip a plug outta the seat if someone scares ya real bad..
