Saddle Recommendations?
05/17/13 at 14:28:11

I have a 2007 S40 with the stock saddle and am looking for recommendations for something comfy for longer trips/touring. Anybody LOVE what they sit on?  Anyone have the Corbin S-S40?

http://www.corbin.com/suzuki/ss40.shtml

TIA!

I was just looking at that very same saddle a few minutes ago. Everyone who has it seems to like it so I am saving up for one myself but I too am interested in hearing other member's experiences with this.

I recently bought one and it is a real good seat.  It has significantly more support compared to the stock seat.  When you lay into the throttle you really sit down into the seat as opposed to sliding back on it.  Although, it did cost $330.  The only real drawback it throw-over saddle bags don't work because the seat lays down real tight to the bike.  Best regards.

The one in the link above by Pebble lists at $279, is this the same seat or has the price gone down over time? Does the seat some with those side rails and back bar(whatever it's called)?

That's where I got mine.  The additional cost is shipping.

I have an aftermarket saddle seat made for a V-Star that I've put some 650 mile days on. I picked it up at a bike bone yard for $50 and it had never been mounted. Pretty studs and everything.

It's great, but you do have to modify the attachment set-up to make it fit. Much easier if you want to get rid of the back set. And it will have you sitting a bit higher which suits my 6' frame just fine.

The Corbin is a significant upgrade. Far more comfy and it looks a lot nicer too.

I have a stock seat off of a V Star, got it for nothing and then just had to make it fit. I removed the rear seat, and am really happy with it.
