Ring in all you high mileage guys -- our oil pump does have some replaceable parts (with all of the parts available through using some other older Suzuki bikes as the microfiche source) but so far to our recollection it hasn't been a big maintenance item, period, ever.
Why are you replacing it again? What is your oil pressure at 1,000 rpm idle speed again?
Or are you just "theorizing about it" while considering a break the cases tear down?
==============
Economically speaking, a "break the cases tear down" costs more in parts, bore/machine shop $$ and do it time than buying a cheap used engine from a breaker house.
Not in our country its not. We don't get wrecked savages down here.Parts are hard to come by.
Plus in the bigger pic i am going to save thousands in Registration fees because i will have a worked 650 in a 400 shell. Its cheaper to Reg a 400 than a 650.
And another thing is the 400 is a 5 speed. And I like the 5 speed.
I am doing most of the work myself so $$$ is not a prob.
I also plan to keep the bike.
