Exhaust leak after harley muffler swap.

So I just did the harley dyna muffler swap but I had a pretty bad air leak at the connection. I did the tin can thing and everything, the only thing I can think of is the clamp I used. Nowhere in my town sold the clamps used in the harley muffler swap tutorial. So I went to auto zone and got a "muffler clamp" which is a u shape and a plate on the bottom. In an attempt to fix the leak wrapped the connection with some heat wrap/muffler fix tape. The leak isn't bad anymore, but I can feel I tiny bit of air coming out. What should I do?

You should get a real "t" clamp. U clamps don't work well in this application. You will probably have to go to a bike shop or order one online....auto stores won't carry them.

Glen I feel your pain, I needed one smaller then the second one I had. I went to 5 auto supply stores and two motorcycle dealers and non of them stocked the band type clamps
I even hit a few dollar stores, I think it was Serow that said he came across them at one by chance once.....no dice. For the time being I cut up a tuna can folded it over twice and used that as a filler for the clamp and it worked till the proper size clamp comes in from being ordered online

glen,
If there is a Harley dealer close, they sell them for about $8 if I remember right.

Also,... if the muffler just won't neck down,... cut a few more slots with a hacksaw... eventually you take away enough metal to allow the clamp to squeeze it down tight...

Thanks guys! I will just order the right clamp. No Harley dealers around me. But in the mean time I'll do the tuna can trick that toesnose mentioned.
