I had another thought.  Could the factory face plate be machined?  Radius the lower edge, add a large half circle under the two slots?

I just didn't  like the angularity of the back end of the plate...
So,.. I rounded the back end... for a bit softer line... Undecided...

That does look better.   agreed the angular shape looks out of place for those of us who have removed the belt guard.  Did you just use a table grinder?

If you want, I could look into making a cover.
Only I couldn't bend over the top like skeebo did.
It would just be a flat plate.

I would be very interested in cover options  Smiley

Serowbot, just noticed the unique front pegs you are running.  What's the story behind those?

Well, here is what I ended up with...Probably would benefit from a little fine tune sanding of the edges, but I was in a hurry to get it completed before the weekend.  The daughter had a birthday party, so my weekend was spent cooking weenies and listening to a dozen girls scream Beiber songs!

Nothing wrong with that at all. Much cleaner looking than the factory part. Bolted on from the inside, covered with little vacuum caps?

I need to do something about mine, looks terrible. And find somebody with a louver punch to mod the upper belt guard, some kind of boring, AND I loathe chrome, so it needs to be sanded and painted...  Undecided

Yep, that exactly what I did.  I probably would've preferred the expanded metal to have been welded in place, but I'm a bit lacking in the TIG dept.  I figured this way, if I don't like the look, I can always switch out the caps for something else...that was before I used copious amounts of red lock-tite...I guess that's why they make power tools Cheesy

Think rivets would've been a better choice.

Nice though.

I think your finished product looks pretty good!  Cool

It's too bad Skeebo went MIA.  He made some really cool stuff.  I had ordered a fake oil tank/battery box right before he disappeared and stopped answering e-mail and PM.  :'(
