I would like to add a Vista Cruise to my new Boulevard S40 but not sure how to get the throttle grip off.  Ideas please?

Buy replacement grips and just cut the old ones off or pull throttle assembly then work grip off slowly while its off the bike.

Are you trying to get the grip off the sleeve or sleeve and grip off the bar?

be carefull the sleeve is plastic and will break if you're overly abusive w/it.

also, the grip is molded w/ribs and groove to match the sleeve.

best method I've found is to stick 3 philips screwdrivers in there and work them around till all the glue is broke free.  Them twist the grip off and work it off the end.

I'd leave it on the bar for whatever support that offers.

If the glue is tenatious, cheap hairspray will loosen it.

IIRC, you don't have to remove anything to install the throttle lock (vista cruise). I have one on my 950 & the sleeve just goes on over your grip. Cool Works great once you get it adjusted properly. Smiley

When I put http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/accessories/cruise_controls/sound_off_rec... on my '06, all I had to do is move the right side mirror to the left enough to allow the mount for the cruise to fit.  My only real issue is I broke the little plastic caps over the screws on the mirror mount.
