Replacement coil
12/04/12 at 12:17:49

Has anyone used a coil on their Savage other than the factory one?  Say, and aftermarket one or one from another bike?  I'm wondering if I can replace the ugly and poorly placed (for my build) one with another one.

Thanks.

Thanks, Gyrobob but those posts are for relocating the stock coil.  I'm looking for anyone that has used a coil other that the factory one.

Never done it,.. but, I would think most any old 12v sparky could handle our low-rev thumper...

If I'm wrong,.. someone will surely chime in to tell me so pretty quick..

need I say more?

I imagine that any coil with the same resistance and impudence would work.

but I'd hate to try that with my $100 can't be replaced magic sh!t box.

(I guess I should point out that cdi was probably burnt out by leaving the key on for extended periods)
