Back to the original premise that the race is neck and neck.
You can get a poll to predict whatever you want.  It's all about whom you poll, and how.
For instance, do you poll representatives of the people at large?
Do you poll only registered voters?
Do you try to scientifically cull out from registered voters those people who are likely voters in any given elction, and only poll a sample of them?
Do you ask the early voters how they voted and try to draw a conclusion from that info about how the folks who go to the polls on election day will vote?

Next Tuesday night we'll know (probably) from the only poll that matters - the vote totals.  But I guess it's fun to either get excited or down in the mouth as your candidate's polling numbers change from day to day.

One thing I see this time around is that the Dems may be the party this year who wants to preserve the Electoral College, as Romney may well win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote.  In 2000, the Dems wanted to trash the EC when Gore won the popular vote but lost the Presidency.  How ironic.

I personally believe we ought to trash the EC - it's time of usefullness has long since passed.

If there is a tie in the EC, which could happen, but probably not, it gets real interesting.  Then, the Presidency is decided by the House, where each state gets one vote regardless of the number of Representatives from each state.  Since the Rs control 33 of the states' delegations, Romney wins the Presidency 33 to 17.

But the Senate elects the VP, with each Senator getting one vote.  Since the Dems have a majority in the Senate, we get a Dem VP.  Could be Biden, could be Obama, could be Hillary, who knows.

This last happened when John Adams was elected Pres. and Thomas Jefferson became VP - two men a lot farther apart in their political and economic views than Romney and Obama could ever be.

wouldn't that be something! Obama wouldn't do it, Hilary wouldn't do it, now Biden, he's a big enough jerk; he'd do it!

When we run out of other people's $$$ - which Other People JOG ? americans ? cos 65% is held by americans - I mean US citizens, the other 35 % ... well its held by japan, brazil, england, swiss etc who dont care, they are just parking their $$$ in a whole slew of $$$ including the dollar ... so that leaves 2 trillion ... lets say 8%.
So when that 8% wont give us more $$$, we dont care we can just print that ...
In case the rest of them wont give us more $$$ ... guess what we can  print it all ...

Who is affected when we print it ...
Yes, those with lots of $$$ sitting as dollar designated $$$ ...
Your social security ... will adjust with inflation ... so will people's wages ... most working people dont have to worry ... people with mattresses full of $$$ they lose. Those who are in debt, in USD make out like bandits and those receiving $$ in dollars stay where they are.

Stop repeating the same thing over and over again, its well and truly baseless ... except to scare people into voting for Romney.

Cool.
Srinath.
