button/pan head bolts for rear fender (Oldfeller)
10/12/12 at 11:59:25
I'm putting a slightly larger tire on (Pirelli MT66 140/90H-15) so I went looking for the thread about bolt replacement and found this one by Oldfeller:
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1181496112/1#1
So I removed a couple of bolts to verify his quantity and dimensions.
1) Item #C - I seem to have only two of these. The other two appear to be pegs from the turn signals.
2) Item #B - These are 45mm, not 35mm
3) Item #A - These appear to be loctited in. After my last experience (broken bolts) I'm a little gun shy about replacing them. Are these replaceable easily?
Thanks.

OF's post is for a MUCH larger rear tire.
The 140/90-15 is only a little larger.
If you have saddle bag brackets, then you would want to change out the "B" bolts, at least on the right side.
Other wise, should not be a problem.
If you want to make sure.. put the tire on, jack the bike up, take off the rear shocks. Put chalk on the bolt heads. Push the tire up into the fender and see if it rubs anywhere on the bolts.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Don't worry about A's, they don't come in contact with the tire.
Only B's and C's on the side rails. And yeah, I only have 2 as well.

Good. I'll re-loctite the one I got loose to measure and pretend I didn't touch the others.
Thanks.
