Newbie appreciation

Just a note of thanks to this board. I picked up a 2006 S40 with 4500 miles and years of neglect. Thanks to this forum in the past 3 weeks, I have been able to:
o  change the oil to Rotella T6 and oil filter and drain "puke tube"
o  replace a broken right rear turn signal
o  drain old gas and install raptor petcock and add inline fram fuel filter
o  replace front tire, tube, and balance using dyna beads recommended on this forum
o  replace front brake pads
o  replace air filter with nu ploy fill
o  build and use a 2x8 $20 motorcycle stand
o  added cargo net for carrying things (from Harbor Freight)
o. added a master lock backpack lock to my right hand mirror as an inexpensive gas trip meter

Things remaining to do

o  change rear tire, check rear brake pads, and dyna bead balance
o  inspect battery and likely replace
o  rejet carb
o  do the dyna muffler mod
o  strip corroded clear coat and polish cases

Thanks for all the help.  In appreciation, I have contributed to the financial support of this forum.

One of the best features of this bike is its community. With it, there is nothing you can't do, or at least pioneer. It's like a manual plus+!

What's your feeling about the dynabeads now that you have used them a bit?

Dyna beads: easy to use

Only way I have to test is by riding, front wheel is stable and smooth, even with hands off.

Things I have done as a NEWB since getting my bike.

1.      Replaced stock handle bars with new drag bars
2.      Added saddlebags
3.      Pulled stock muffler and replaced with Jardine
4.      Seat lift modification / and quick pins installed
5.      Inline fuel filter installed
6.      Found messed up Air/fuel mix screw from previous owner and
messed it up more trying to remove it.   Pulled carburetor from
bike and waiting on a replacement to install (coming soon).
7.      Oil change using Rotella T now
8.      Added a Sigma bike computer fro speedometer and trip meter.

THINGS ON MY LIST TO DO

1.      Check Cam Chain Adjuster and order  from verslagen1
2.      Order and install a windshield
3.       Install replacement Carburetor
4.      Change to a cone air filter
5.      Build brackets for my saddle bags
6.      find the small oil leak on top end, replacing gaskets for top end
       rebuild adjusting valves etc.
7.      Replace fork seals and fork dust caps
8.      Replace petc0ck with Raptor Petc0ck
