Ive got a question about my bikes jetting.
I think that its running lean but am unsure.
As I am deccelerating down hill in gear as the slope of the hill increases and the rpms climb my bike.. Well.. It farts like bruuuumplatuuuumplatplatuuum. Until I stop. Is this normal or indicative of improper jetting?

This is a new thing for me as I just installed a suppertrapp with 6 discs or so. My jetting is in my sig.

Any imput appreciated!

Very small world. He was just telling me on Sunday that he helped someone who recognized my bike from here.

As for your question about yellowing on the pipe, I'd say the spark plug is a much better indicator.

IIRC, it should be tan-ish. If it's black/sooty, it's too rich. If it's white it's too lean.

And creep up till my plugs are golden

When I had a 52.5 Pilot and a 152.5 main my bike ran too rich, and it grumbled when I rolled off the throttle.

I have a stock air filter and a Supertrapp, and I have it just about jetted perfectly right now with a 52.5 Pilot and a 150 main. My needle has 3 washers on top - but it is a needle with 6 positions for the clip and I have it 3 from the bottom.

My suggestion would be to try a 52.5 Pilot and a 150 main, and adjust the needle until you start to get a lean surging off idle.....then raise the needle until the lean stumble is gone. The needle has a huge affect on the way the engine runs......I was surprised. I am actually going to try a 50 pilot jet next and see what happens.
