Cone filter mod and mini battery mod
09/26/12 at 13:01:25

Does anyone have a picture of a bike with both the cone filter mod (airbox removed) and the mini battery mod ?  I'd like to see what it looks like with the middle area opened up. I've seen boule'tard's picture of the mini battery mod, but he still kept his side covers, was wondering if anyone has done both.

Here's a favorite of mine...didn't do the mini battery, just stuffed it in a saddlebag  Grin

DiamondJim's is a thing of beauty.

This isn't quite what you asked, but here is mine (slightly more open than the average)

I have the mini-battery mod, cone filter mod with airbox removed, AND I kept my side covers.  I'll take some pics and show you tomorrow.  It's pretty clean, if I do say so myself.  Wink

Hey EJID, I think I've asked you before about your headlight relocation, but I must say that I am not good at fabrication although owning this bike is making me learn quick. Is there anyway you could help me out with making a bracket for the top triple tree. I really like the look of the headlight there ?

Here's some profiles:

You can't see the cone in those, because it's in here!

I chose to keep my side covers with this mod for a few reasons:  I didn't want to remount the CDI, I needed a new place to mount my solenoid, and I'm going to use the part of the airbox that the right cover mounts on to make a hidden compartment.

I have more pics available at your request.  I might post them here later since they are relevant to the subject line.

TROX...the bike I posted was not mine, it used to belong to Diamond Jim, who did several mods in a very methodical fashion. You could look back to the Tech section for some of his posts and just search in RSD to see what you can find. IIRC I believe LANCER might have ended up buying that bike a while back when it was for sale.

EJID/Diamond Jim,
I really like the seat in the first picture. Anybody have an idea what it is?
Thanks

If you mean this one, it's a stock seat reworked.
