hi Paul! Yes to clear the drive chain can be used kerosene, or even better diesel fuel (or equivalent) gasoline is not good. from him the o-rings into disrepair very easily. this is of relatively cheap (at us in Russia) options.. or special liquid for cleaning chains.

I've always used Kerosene and a soft bristle brush. Use o-ring safe chain lube when finished.
