What kind of motor is the windshield wiper motor on the 1964-65 Ford Thunderbird?

kind= what makes it work...

Air pressure from the spare? Yugo did something silly like that. I can't remember if it was wipers or washers though.

IIRC it's hydraulic motor, so that would suggest it runs off the power steering pump or an aux hydraulic pump of some sort.   Been along time since I messed with one of those so I don't remember exactly.

DING DING we have a winner!

The hydraulic windshield wiper motor runs off pressure from the power steering pump!

Rebuilt unit is $249 plus core... without core...

$400 plus shipping!

(anyone want to buy my '65 tbird?)

Smiley

You might try to find a local hydraulic shop to see if they can rebuild it for much cheaper.   I think that is what we ended up doing at a Shop I worked at when we couldn't find one at the time.

Hydraulic stuff isnt that hard, is it? Have you looked for a rebuild kit?
Could you mod it to electric?
