Help installing Ryca mini turn signals
06/19/12 at 21:09:02
I have 03 Savage and for some reason my stock turn signal brackets are a little different than the ones in the Ryca how-to video.
I still cut off part of the bracket, but there is no area inside that is a small enough diameter to tap threads into for the mini turn signals to mount. I can slide the turn signal threads into the bracket.
What could I use to mount these?

I'm thinking, no one is replying because we don't get what the problem is...
I'm not a Ryca guy...
If it were me,... I'd just take out whatever that rubber bit is in the bracket, and stick the signal in the hole with a washer and nut on the end...
No tapping needed...
That's how these type lights usually mount...

There is a metal sleeve in that rubber part...you can see the beginning of it where I cut it off.
This metal sleeve piece is supposed to be a small enough diameter where you can tap it so that the mini turn signal can thread into it.
For some reason, the signal brackets on my Savage are different than the ones in the Ryca video. So the threads on the mini signal just slide into the bracket.
But I will be buying new signal brackets now...just broke mine trying to get the bracket/sleeve piece out of the part that attaches to the fork!

I'm going to jump in here with my own turn signal question since I was going to post it on the forum anyway.
I wanted to change out my turn signals with something else to clean up the lines of the bike. Any tips on how to best do this? What do they suggest in the Ryca kit?
My other thought is to not change out the turns but modify what's there. Is it possible to just remove the ugly black part to slim things down?

try a larger size.
