HD Peg Question
06/19/12 at 16:50:52

I installed a set of spinny Hardly pegs. I drilled them out to work with the Savage hardware. As you can see, they have that HD gangster lean. I don't own a welder. Are there any options to level them out a bit?

The only thing I can think of is to pack some material behind the peg mounting flat, inside of the "u" bar, but without seeing the peg off of bike, and comparing it to the stock Savage peg, it's a little hard to design the "wedge".

Hardwood mini slab on TOP of the peg tang. Keeps it from being able to sag, but also won't let it fold up if the peg tip touches the ground.

I converted my bike to HD half moon floorboards, but cut my scrap stock pegs and welded the mounting end to the board mounting end.

You might want to look into that style peg for a VS or VZ 800.I think they are a bit closer to the Savage peg mount. Too dark to check right now (Savage and VS800 are parked under the poplar tree in the front yard).

Thanks Badass!

Africord, this isn't the same peg but is the same mount.

WD, I will look into it. Thanks.

Only lasted 2 rides! I found the peg part and bolted it back on. We'll see how long it lasts this time!

After repairing the peg and doing more riding, I think I like the gangster lean. I am bowlegged  Embarrassed with cankles  Huh. My ankles would always rest on the side of the engine. It would get hot even through my boots. Now they don't touch. I do have to reach slightly for my foot controls but I prefer that. I guess I am just gonna get some washers in there to pick up the slop and call it done. The pegs anyway.
