Master cylinder level enough?
05/29/12 at 12:45:49
I raised the buck horn bars on my scooter an inch and a half. I kept the same position of the bars in the clamp. It is much more comfortable to ride. The front brake pretty much sucks now though. The lever squeezes almost to the grip and the stopping power is very much reduced. Do I need to level the master cylinder on the bars? Do I need to add more brake fluid? Did I damage something in the process?

The fluid level looked low. I tilted my bars up a little and added some. Still squishy. Perhaps it has something to do with laying upside down while I was doing the work. I will search how to bleed them and go from there.

I love talking to myself!
It just needed burped. There was some air in the line. All is right with the world again.
(who knew that most of the stuff I learned as an auto mek-a-nik transfers to the scooter?)

Greg, I was just happy to be here during the conversation. I have to park with the rear tire on something like a curb and turn my bars just right to level my Mas Cyl. I fill it and put the top on. Always been that way.
